Victor, Montana | personal

We went on vacation this summer! Our parents own a cabin in Montana and brought the kids with them on their drive out the beginning of July. It was a whole three weeks from the time that they left until we arrived out there and I was so nervous about Gracey being gone away from us for that long!

Our plane landed at noon Montana time. We were greeted by the family with tight hugs, big kisses and Montana leis. Brian's lei was a bone necklace made from bones that Chris and the kids collected from the cabin property and my lei was Moose Poop!!! Well, they really made it from chocolate covered raisins not real moose poop, but it was very cool!

We started our vacation by heading straight to Famous Dave's for some yummy BBQ lunch that is a must have if you ever visit Montana. Then we headed back to the cabin for them to show us around. After we changed our clothes we headed up the mountain to see all the views.

We spent the rest of our week hiking, shopping, fishing, visiting family, being lazy, eating late dinners, playing spades, and sitting on the porch enjoying the view.

We just loved it there so much are all ready to go back soon!

Here are a couple of my favorites from our trip...

This is the view of the valley from the cabin porch. We were above the clouds one morning!

You don't see many new vehicles driving around Victor. The people that live there just keep everything running and fix it when needed. Definitely not a "if it doesn't work throw it away" mentality. This truck is Great Uncle Reid's. I don't think it was running but it sure looked cool!

Dad was so funny walking around with his western holster on his side. He's showing us he's a real cowboy. :)

Here's the family. A few of these are Montana residents. They have it made being able to live in such a beautiful place!

The kids loved the plane ride home. Movies and M&M's...who wouldn't?

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is and we are so very thankful that the kids had the opportunity to spend traveling with their grandparents. Mom and Dad, thank you so much for everything you did to make this possible for us! We can't wait to go back!
